I have a copy of Adobe Premier Elements 11 which I use as a standby to Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12 for video editing.

Premier Elements fails to load and I get and error code 6. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the programme three times but no avail. Adobe support has been less than helpful.

I'm running Windows 8.1..

There is a wide range of potential causes. You might read through http://atr935.blogspot​.com …-raw-plug-in-version.html (external link) initially. Are you using an nVidia graphics card?
