This is one of the coolest photos involving Cowboy Action I've ever seen. A friend (BirdGun Quail, SASS#63663 was using a Canon Powershot A400 and caught the sun's reflection off of the bullet. He gave me permission to use the photo. The big feller with the shot timer is my brother. This was taken at the North Alabama Regulator's home range near Woodville, AL. f/3.8, 1/250 sec.
If you zoom in on the bullet streak you can actually see the rotation of it. BirdGun freely admits it was sheer luck, and no skill involved. But you know what they say about blind squirrels and acorns.

Great shot!

I've been able to do that a few times. I'm always very happy to see it when it happens.

While I think it's a great capture, how is playing "cowboys" a sport?

They call alot of things sports today. But, I have seen a cowboy shoot where they did have to do an obstacle course of sorts.

If the guy with the .45 says it's a sport, then it's a sport. ;)

Some Canon stuff and a little bit of Yongnuo.

I reckon it depends on your definition of sport. Every shooter follows a prescribed course of fire and it's timed. I'm not big on racing, but I kinda think they sorta do the same thing.
Winner's get bragging rights, and maybe a buckle or trophy.

Everything about anything is "sporting". Just depends upon which end of the action you're on! LOL!!

I always thought hitting a little white ball around a pasture hunting for gopher holes was kind dumb too, but people think it's a sport of some kind!! LOL!!

It's all sports, sport. LOL!
