What is his story?

Interesting, I wrote my post before seeing Post #3. I had stopped scrolling down when I saw another person had deleted their comment, and scrolled back up to verify it was not the OP.....Thought Auto mechanic, as I get my dirtiest working on dirty greasy truck engines. His look is a bit other worldly might I say?....then saw your link as soon as I pushed submit.

My brother in law lives outside Ft Bragg. Myself, am a welder and absolutely love pancakes from Denny's. It's one of my favorite meals. I am however, much more settled in life style.

Nice post, nice technique to provoke thought and conversation all around. Effective! Now I wonder what was deleted.

Is the Fort Bragg in NC, or is there another one in CA?

thanks! what was deleted was an amusing guess about who mr denny was. i guess a little too amusing for some.

hmm, didn't know there was "another" fort bragg, ha ha. this one is in CA, and is home to the WAS famous Glass Beach (people have since destroyed it, as I reported when posting the picture of my anemone in the macro section):

I am glad you read it and got something of it!

(If anyone's wondering: everything in the story was said. Maybe not the exact words, but I did my best to represent the tone and what he wanted to talk about.)

much appreciated!

all people are full of amazing stories, but as it takes time for a novel to reveal itself, it also takes time to find a person's essence. i think if two are willing to sit down and share a meal, and talk freely, amazing words, feelings, and dreams may come to light.

if i ever ask, "how are you?", it's never a superficial greeting for me--i really am looking for your honest answer, and am prepare to listen to all there is to be said.

I was curious if you did much PP on him especially his teeth. Meth users begin to get severe tooth decay "meth mouth" fairly quickly yet his teeth look quite normal. Dental hygiene is also not high on the list of street people.

Hi. I did do some PP to remove some shadows that I thought would have made him look worse in the photo than in real life, but nothing like removing stains or stuff. No use of the content-aware tools ha ha. That's basically how he looked.

The reason I wrote this was to show a side that I've not really seen shown elsewhere before. His picture was a contradiction as well as many of his statements. There was plenty of irony that I found. But absolutely no pity--he's a happier and more content person than I.
