Bill Boehme noticed the link to the tutorial on haze reduction! Wow what a write up. If you ever do a vid on the process (some of us---me---are video learners) please let me know. I think you quite brilliant for discerning where and what the problem in the haze was and then dealing with it. Thanks again.
Thank you for the compliment. The one that I did in Glacier Bay, Alaska was where I first created the idea of digging an image out of the haze and the results turned out to be far better my expectations. The process tends to be somewhat labor intensive so I only would consider it for images with a lot of potential. I haven't found any way to automate some of the process, however some of the tools in Photoshop CS6 make it easier to select objects. I sometimes use CS3 or CS5 because I feel more comfortable working with some of the older tools, but that is my fault for being old (old farts have old ways).
I'm sorry that I still like to kill trees. I would much prefer to have a paper manual that I can stick in my pocket or camera bag for quick reference. I looked online and didn't see the PDF for the manual -- what I did see was some "brochures" with bad links to blank documents. Maybe the thing that is holding back the release is that the manual has not been written yet. I really would like to get my hands on the Mark II, but not sure that I can come up with a reason to get rid of my current camera -- my original 7D is still a great camera.
