I'm going to buy mine from Amazon when their next shipment arrives and when the battery grip is available.

My $2 order was canceled but it was fun while it lasted. ;)

I ordered mine from Adorama along with a grip and an extra battery. Both the camera body and the grip shipped and I got them this morning. The extra battery didn't make the original shipment but then I go an email notice right before noon that it had shipped and is on its way.

Thanks. That was direct from amazon and included tax.

Total before tax: $76.34
Estimated tax to be collected: $6.11
-----
Grand Total: $82.45

I guess a couple of dollars more at amazon.

Yes -- NO tax on Adorama ... so what you see is what you pay. Unless you live in NY, then taxable. In CA - Napa, no tax ... BTW: lived close to Napa for a lot of years - beautiful country.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to look into Adorama a bit more. We have lived in Napa for 40 years or so and been very happy here. You are correct, it is beautiful country. We still marvel as we drive through the area how beautiful it is.

Looks like BB is now shipping orders from their warehouse.

Oh well, I supported a smaller retailer this time around :-)

No camera today.

Well it is 8:30 PM and the camera has not arrived. I guess Halloween may have slowed things down a bit for the truck, just not certain.

I'm very frustrated with UPS as I have had bad experiences with them in the past and now again today. I have to pass some of the blame up to amazon.com as they are the ones who used UPS rather than FedEx for next day delivery. I'm sure amazon.com will refund the $6.00 extra I paid to upgrade from 2nd day to overnight but that is little consolation.

As UPS does not deliver on Saturday it will be Monday before delivery. ANOTHER day spent at home as a signature is required for delivery.

If I can find a 7DM2 kit tomorrow I may just go get it and refuse the package from amazon.com when it shows up.

8:30 - 9:00 PM - Spoke with an amazon.com rep on the east coast who spoke with UPS. According to UPS there was a sorting error and the camera went out on the wrong truck. She asked UPS to prioritize delivery for first thing Monday and they said they could request first thing delivery but not guarantee it. If I can't find a kit tomorrow I'll be waiting all day again to sign for a delivery that could be on the wrong truck.

9:30 PM - Doorbell rings and we both say it is way too late for trick or treaters - go to the door and it the UPS guy. Short drivers and they are working till 10:00 PM. I thanked him for hanging in there, gave him some candy and now have the camera. :-) :-) :-)

I bet many many of us would choose FexEx over UPS, me, because I can go online in most cases and click the button and they'll hold it a a close-by FexEx store=priceless compared to waiting for the brown truck.

The grip is still showing "preorder: this item has no yet been released" at the moment on the Amazon site. That and I want to order from Amazon directly, not from one of their third party suppliers and Amazon is out of stock on the body only. I get one year, no interest, from Amazon, hence my preference for using them.

I'm in no rush. I hope to get one in my hands in the next couple of weeks.

And the battery shipped Friday, also overnight from Adorama, will have a spare on Monday plus the non-N I have running around here. Nice.

On the kit thing, I am actually kinda happy I got the kit this time, there are times I miss the 18-135 I sold with my 60D, and the STM version is much better. It is such a useful focal length and the STM version has this new IS that gives you a steadycam feel during video, combined with silent AF and lighter weight, it is a really cool lens for video use.

You can do the same with My UPS, too, however, Adorama won't allow you to make any delivery changes.

You can, usually, if you contact me directly - provided it hasn't already entered the shipping process.

However, the free overnight shipping offer is only for UPS b/c we were able to negotiate a good enough quantity discount. We don't get one with FedEx

I was hoping for a tracking number this morning, but received this message instead. Oh well, guess I won't be playing anytime soon.

"One or more items from this purchase are still out of stock as we haven't
yet received the merchandise from our supplier. We are sorry for any
inconvenience this may have caused. We will keep you posted periodically."

Thank you.

Good to know. I'll keep this in the vault.

Btw, Adorama has the 7D2 bodies in stock.

B&H seems to be dragging their feet on this one. They still show preorder.

JHowdy cancel and order from Adorama, quickly. If you go through Mr Rebates (external link) you will get 1% cash back - not a lot, but better than nothing.
