7Dii Bestbuy release date Oct.30th

^the 5Diii is supposed to be weatherproof too. I've never had a problem probably because when it starts to downpour I put the rig up but after so many anectdotal stories of camera failure in serious rain I don't plan on testing the 7Dii.
Anyway 3 more days until release......
and if the ISO/noise does pan out equal to or less than the 70D I've decided to add a 70-200 F4 IS as a walk around lens. I've got a Sigma 2.8 and the weight just cringes me for walk around.

Don't know if you use the grip or not, but it sure help balance the heavier lenses -doesn't feel so front heavy.

I have a nice think tank rain cover. But sitting in a down pour isn't exactly fun. Lol.
Also the birds generally stop moving then and hide.

very keen to hear you comments re noise and the iq on the 7 d m2 mm - do still have one on order here in aus but very much in a wait and see mode now

have the 70-200 f 4 L IS USM and its a dream to walk about with and takes the 1.4 E mk 3 pretty well but when i need that i usually just put on the 100 - 400 if i have it along

^patrol I shot with the 70D today and was thinking about the 7Dii. For arguments sake let's say it is the same sensor as the 70D that will be in the new 7Dii..I'd hasten anybody curious as to the noise performance issue to peruse the 70D forum for 'high' ISO pics/discussions-those in the1600-3200 range, considering that and my hedge that it is highly likely the same even if modified sensor as the 70D, well the noise issue will be moot (for a crop body of course).
I've never 'tested' any camera HA! But for fun I do plan on putting them side by side, same room, same lighting, blah blah blah and having a see for myself.
Noise is one thing right, but banding is another. There is no way Canon would release the mk ii without having seriously addressed that issue.
I'm excited for a bigger reason....once it gets here (the 7Dii) and works then I will ditch a 5Diii that just sits and gathers dust (less than 2000 clicks and less than a year old)....I actually prefer the 70d if I'm going for birds (and def. for macro with the tilt/swivel screen); and if I'm going landscape I'm all over the A7s....and the proceeds when I sell the 5Diii will go toward paying the better-half back for the 400 DO ii Well that's my current plan.

.....one more prediction. The only thing I wont like is the lack of WiFi bt the people at DSLR Controller have already taken care of that problem:

Also, DPP 4.1 was just released and will process 7D2 RAW files. I tried it last night on some of the IR RAW samples and it looked really good for noise processing.

I've never used wifi with any of my cameras, so not familiar wit it. What are the benefits of using wifi?
