Lol.
Sadly it's so dang dry here we are very short on ducks, but I will do my best.

I improvised when I got my 7D - https://photography-on-the.net …php?p=8744055&postcount=2 ;)

Some Canon stuff and a little bit of Yongnuo.

Nice. You get to start the "7D2 owners unite and post" thread.

That string exists and is 10 pages long already. :D

If you've got a decent internet connection it's only 3 pages but yeah here it is:

Actually, it has to do with the number of posts per page option you have it set on in the user control panel. I had mine set to the forum default but have changed it now to 50 per page.

These stores (and Canon too) are torturing us poor souls with a Thursday roll-out. That means most people won't see their new toy until they go back to work next week. Boo! I want it for the weekend. Meaning this weekend, not next weekend! Grrr....

5Dii, 7D, SL1, and a bunch of lenses.

Ha. Yeah I know I was just saying unless you have a slow connection there is no need to not set it to the 50.

Just got a call. My 7d2 is in at my local shop and ready for pickup. I will be making an unscheduled stop on my way home from work tonight :D

Yep, got a call today too. Said should be in tomorrow. Sounds like you might be one of the first to get theirs! congrats! I hope I end up keeping it. Not that I waited almost a year for nothing.

I just called my local Henry's Store where I preordered mine on September 20th. It's in stock but they can't release it before Thursday. :D

^patrol I shot with the 70D today and was thinking about the 7Dii. For arguments sake let's say it is the same sensor as the 70D that will be in the new 7Dii..I'd hasten anybody curious as to the noise performance issue to peruse the 70D forum for 'high' ISO pics/discussions-those in the1600-3200 range, considering that and my hedge that it is highly likely the same even if modified sensor as the 70D, well the noise issue will be moot (for a crop body of course).
I've never 'tested' any camera HA! But for fun I do plan on putting them side by side, same room, same lighting, blah blah blah and having a see for myself.
Noise is one thing right, but banding is another. There is no way Canon would release the mk ii without having seriously addressed that issue.
I'm excited for a bigger reason....once it gets here (the 7Dii) and works then I will ditch a 5Diii that just sits and gathers dust (less than 2000 clicks and less than a year old)....I actually prefer the 70d if I'm going for birds (and def. for macro with the tilt/swivel screen); and if I'm going landscape I'm all over the A7s....and the proceeds when I sell the 5Diii will go toward paying the better-half back for the 400 DO ii :) Well that's my current plan.

Oh forgot here is one of Pauls photos at 6400:
https://photography-on-the.net …&highlight=70D+iso&page=6

cheers Mm and go for it mate and enjoy :D - keen to hear a genuine users opinion about the 7 d mk 2 re IQ and its iso noise handling not coloured by canon marketing or financial self interest  - which is what we have all been reading for the past month or more - that doesnt mean to say what has been fed to us unsophisticated masses is completely wrong info but no doubt its been diluted to at least some degree with tasty apertisers and not many of us shoot with a 600 f4 lens do we ?

cheer rob

PS and if it proves a bit better than the 70 d in the 800 - 1600 - 2400 iso range then that will be as good as it gets for now !!!

HA! First 7Dii shot MUST be a duck HA!!

WiFi gives you a tilt/swivel screen via your phone. Not that intend to use the 7Dii for macro or astro but the tilt/swivel is really nice for those genres in the 70D and 6D. Some even put their phone in a 'cradle' and the cradle mounts to the hot shoe and use the phone as an external monitor again tilting it; I suppose the video folks. NOW if touch focus on your phone can translate over to the camera in live view mode then the 7Dii will get a huge pump up for video application for those inclined (not me)....just thinking out loud here. Plus the big advantage for the sports guy who needs to get the photo uploaded to the cloud/publisher in a serious hurry like at a football game and the rush to get THE pic out, again not me but maybe for some via the direct upload feature in smartphones. A few more uses I'm sure.

Thursday is good. I just ordered a pop up blind I"m going to put near some owl boxes we put up a couple of weeks ago, should have it in place when the 7Dii gets here in my case probably around Monday.....so even before I grub it up in my paws the frantic frenzy of ISO exploitation will have begun in ernest :)

Roger that Rob...unsophisticated and financially immune to Canon describes me! as attested to by my investment in Sony as well....right tool right job.

The shipping from BB is supposed to be overnight, and if the site is to be believed it says "get it by Thursday, Oct 30th", which means shipping tomorrow for deliveries Thursday.

Not sure if this has been mentioned here but Mr Rebates temporarily offers 3% cashback on Amazon cameras until 10/30.
You can knock $54 off a new 7DII this way.

A definite possibility. Hope it happens.
