Great shot! Has great interest for an architectural shot.

Excellent composition, exposure and color balance.

My only peeve is that I do like to see the foundation or any architectural shot, so that we know it's sitting on something. If that just wasn't practical, so be it, but at least you know why you lose one point.

thanks for the nice words. :]

one reason the bottom of the building wasn't in the shot was because there was an ugly chain link fense blocking it. there is an empty lot about to be developed between me and the building.

i also wanted to have the diver in a specific area of the shot and composing it to incorporate the bottom of the building wouldn't have been as visually pleasing to me. it's supposed to be a sort of strange image with some mystery to it. i thought having the shot zoomed in added to the mystery a little. at least you know my reasoning now :]

Beautiful composition. What a great photograph. Very abstract and very real at the same time. The darker band at the bottom makes a wonderful foundation, IMO. I'm going to save it and add it to my collection of gems I've found on the web. Actually, it's now my wallpaper. BTW, I expect to see Humphrey Bogart walking down the fire escape any time.
