Has anyone successfully set up their Pro1/10/100 printer on their home network with Verizon FiOS WITHOUT using an ethernet cable to connect to the router? I want to take advantage of the wireless feature. I already have the printer set up and it's working while being plugged into the router. I send the print jobs wireless over the network. Just want to get rid of the ethernet cable.

I know that the WPS button isn't activated on the Actiontec router that FiOS uses, so I can't connect using the usual set up instructions. Is there a way to set it up through the router's browser set up?

Thanks.

Sorry can't help with your actual issue but FYI the Pro 1 does not have Wi-Fi, only the Pro 10 and 100 have Wifi. Friend has the Pro 100 and decided to stick with cables because of the file size when printing from TIFF.

Could be a number of things ya.
Check printer support for wifi
If it has it make sure wifi turned ON on printer
Make sure its connected to network and has address if so
Make sure software knows to connect to it wirelessly
PM me for more info lol

Woops. Didn't know that the Pro1 wasn't wifi enabled.

biglipps... your advice sounds like the stock instructions. My issue is one needing a backdoor solution. I need the printer to communicate with the router wirelessly. Thanks.

Just a quick look here (page 6) seems to indicate that you can use an alternative wifi setup by temporarily using a USB cable. Have you tried that?

I'll give that a try. Thanks.

I think I read previously that the usb port on the FiOS Actiontec routers aren't enabled, either... I'll have to check that.

I'm pretty sure the USB connection is from PC to printer, not to the router.

Also, take a look at this thread. Seems to imply that you should be able to enable wifi on the printer while using your current printer-cabled-to-router setup. Once it's enabled, you should be able to disconnect the ethernet cable.
