i'm currently maintaining 2 systems myself - a 6D FF and a E-pl5 m43 system. I regularly shoot macro using my 100L IS and was thinking - is there any macro lens in m43 that can match up (or even surpass) the 100L+6D combo?

I'm looking for micro contrast, color, sharpness, IQ on the whole. noise/DOF is not a concern to me (for macro).

welcome all recommendations! some sample shots of both would be good!

Thank you.

You could consider making all your Canon lenses fit on your M43 camera usingthis $399 adapter (external link) (allows IS operation). AF is not supported but MF and focus assist (zoom in on EVF) should help with macro... Using the 100 2.8 on that will give you more detail capture but in the M43's 2.0 crop area

why dont you test the zuiko 60mm f/2.8 macro for m43??

Your probably better off buying a ring flash to enhance the capabilities of your Canon gear setup.

I own a gh3 and OMD em-5 and its a great system but for max IQ you cannot beat your 6d. The 100L is not a heavy piece of glass so I'd deal with Canon vs spending more money on a dedicated macro lens for an inferior M43 platform (as far as high iso and high quality, more dynamic files)

"inferior" is probably strong words but I know the limitation of both systems. I feel the M43 would do a great job in the task...dont get me wrong. However both systems have pros/cons for certain situations in life.

If you simply lug lighter gear all of the time...its probably worth spending money on a well reviewed zuiko 60mm.

i have asked around previously and it appears that the zuiko 60mm has very inconsistent AF.

not looking so much to have the creme de la creme, but trying to seek a balance between performance and portability.

thanks!

90mm tokina/vivitar macro "bokina" + adapters. it lacks AF, but if you are shooting macro it won't matter. it's is an old lens but mine is as sharp as my modern high end glass, plus it goes 1:1 with the macro adapter.
