AHL Hockey - IceHogs v Admirals 10-11-14

Our season opener/home opener for the 2014-15 season. Excellent game from both teams, however, a few mistakes by the home team cost us the game, 3-2. Starting in net for us was NHL veteran Michael Leighton who looked great. Unfortunately our defense let him down a few times which caused the goals against.

I'm going to make two different posts in this thread because I have two different sets from this game; pre-game and game shots. I was in the player bench for pre-game warmups, so I got some shots there with both the 1DX+300 2.8mk2 and the 1DX+24-70 2.8 mk2. Hopefully you can tell which is from which =)

Nice goal shot for #3. I completely missed that one, as I was following another player. Great work as always.

I do have a question...hows the 1dX at 2000 ISO? Do you use any noise reduction software prior to posting?

@Nukehed - noise at ISO 2000 is excellent. All I use is a +5 or +10 to noise reduction in camera raw, and that really isn't even necessary unless there are quite a few black colors in the shot, and the shot is cropped about 50%. Other than that, it's hardly noticeable.

@Dave - I'll have plenty of shots for you to 'live through me' this season =)

@Nick5 - Yep, that is him. Strange, after playing against him in the 2010 Cup finals that he is now back in the organization, and here with Chicago's affiliate. He's come in here with a good attitude and is ready to roll.

@GST - If you ever want to shoot a game down here in Rockford, just let me know and I'll get you a media pass. Obviously you can see games in Milwaukee, but it's better here in Rockford =)

We're on the road for 10 days, so no games to shoot this weekend.
