ralff,

I'm not sure if you are still looking for something this year or next. Last year both me and my son went on a photography workshop with Jon Shaver during the 3rd week of September to Yellowstone. He hosts two workshops that are back to back weeks. He did the same this year, however, I don't know what his plans are next year. I think he will accommodate up to 7 on his Yellowstone trips. He is an accomplished photographer and was willing to answer any photography question we asked him. We thought he was an excellent guide who worked diligently to get you in the right location for the time of day. You can check out his work at

Thanks, will have to call and see about next year, the fall trip sounds terrific, did you get many keepers?

Yep, we got some keepers. Eight of the keepers now hang in my family room. This was our first photography workshop devoted to wildlife and landscapes so we probably took more pictures than some one a bit more experienced. I probably took 2500 pictures for the week and my son was closer to 4000. Gear wise I took my 60D and 6D with 17-40, 24-105 and 100-400. The 100-400 spent most, but not all, of the time on my 60D. I brought my flash but never used it and also brought a polarizer and neutral density filters. My son brought his 7D and interchanged between his 15-85 and 100-400. Bring both bodies with you when ever you get a chance to go and don't forget the tripod.
