Profoto beauty dish. Any substitutes equal or better?

I just purchased two of the B1 500 strobes and love them. I bought a profoto beauty dish (white) and paying near $400 for it, I think that is crazy. Anyone know of any alternatives that work well? Thanks.

The Mola Demi above I hear great things about it. At $300 it's a bit much for my taste - but then again you spent $400 on the profoto version.

I personally am going to pick up a Kacey Beauty dish here soon - at $143 it is a much easier choice for me.

Don't forget, you'll need a Profoto speedring for that Demi, so add another $100 or so.

My guess is that the Kacey dish will work just as well, and be much lighter in weight.

I have used several brands over the years. And honestly there is not as much difference to warrant the price difference that there is. There is more difference in how you use it than there is is what one you use.

After trying 3rd party solutions, I've decided to buy nothing but light formers (other than brollies) from the manufacturer of my lights (Hensel). No one but the manufacturer knows more about their own lights, and they design their light formers around them: the results are optimal. $ 400 is not an outrageous price for a quality, non-Chinese-made, dish. I paid the same for my ACS Silver, plus another $ 50 for the carrying bag.

Isn't it a little late to be looking for cheaper alternatives if you have already purchased the Profoto?

Had the Euro, prefer the Setti but i'm sure the Op is already squeamish about the the $400 pricetag of his Profoto bowl that's why he asked if there was a better option i.e. less money

Well, I received the above dish in yesterday, perfect fit in fact little tight to get on but that's okay. I just place the dish on the ground and push the light in. The only thing I dislike were the screws holding the speeding on are plastic and I replaced those with metal wing nuts...

I was talking about me buying the euro. Kacey 20" is within his range.

consider the setti then , the euro created much flatter lighting due to it's size
