POTN Powershot Speed Challenge #7 - Clouds

OK, let's see some pictures of clouds. It doesn't have to be just that of clouds alone or even clouds as the "main subject," as long as there are clouds in the picture and as long as they make an impact on what the picture projects.

To submit, click "Post Reply" and put your Photo Name in the Subject Line. Don't forget your Camera Model.

Post until noon GMT, Monday, 27 February 2006.

_______________

Please consider turning on Private Messaging in your profile.
This will allow the host to contact you about winning or ineligible photos. You turn this feature on by clicking "User CP, Edit Options, Enable Private Messaging" (about a third of the way down the page). Thank you.
_______________

Photo Submissions

1. Camera -- photos must be taken with a Any Canon Powershot Series Camera (SD, A-series, S1/2, & S-series only)

2. Time -- any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.

3. Size -- photo must be EXACTLY 800 pixels on the longest side, with NO BORDERS

4. Post-Processing -- do whatever you like and the host will decide if it works.

5. Posting --

  • ONE PHOTO per photographer in each challenge.
  • Photo Name in the message subject line.
  • Camera model.
6. Commenting by Photographers -- While name and camera are all that are required, you're welcome to add any hints, story, special techniques, location, EXIF data.

7. No Commenting by others -- When the posting is closed, comments can be made in this thread.

Time

One challenge every week, on the following schedule:
  • New Topic ... Tuesday by midnight GMT.
  • Posting Starts ... Right after topic is announced.
  • Posting Stops ... Noon GMT Monday
  • Winner Announcement ... Monday by midnight GMT.

Sea of Pink

This was shot nearly 2 years ago when I had my A75 in auto mode way before I knew anything about apertures and shutter speeds. :D

unsharp mask, saturation and highlights boost to give the "polarizer look", and blurred a lot of the excessive noise and artifacts from saturation and sharpening.

Great clouds so far, one and all!

I was given a "point of order" on the rules I posted, so I have changed one little thing. The photos submitted must now be exactly 800 pixels on the longest side. This will provide consistency. I'm sure that will not be a problem for you experts out there.

Keep the clouds coming - make me work my brain on judging between them!
