Hi guys, I've been a long time lurker on the forums, and I'm slowly building my equipment when budget allows.
I thought I'd share some of the macro images I took over the weekend in the garden and surrounding area, I'm aware these are not ground breaking and have been done many times but I thought I was well past due posting my pics.

These are hand held and taken with a raynox 250 on a canon 55-250mm or a 50 1.8mm.

Looking at these I can see the faults, shortcomings from what I've learnt by reading on the forums, so any advice is welcome.

For example, this green bug, I had a spot focus on its head eyes, but must have moved when I hit the shutter, but that little movement through out the focus onto its back.

Good start and welcome to the macro section, like the first two the most.

I really like that first one. The trick for macro photography, especially in the beginning is to take LOTS of pics, and show only your best. For tricky subject matter it might take 20 or more pics before you get one that nails the focus. I find this particularly true for spiders sitting in a web that is moving around with the breeze or and insect on a swaying plant. It takes a lot of patience.

Welcome out of the shadows :) These are better than my first few sets on here... they were pretty lousy...

I think you would see better results by bumping to f11 or f13 as opposed to f4.5 on numbers 2 and 3

And, as John says above, take many photos of the subject at hand... I ALWAYS wish I had taken "just a few more" ;)
