Hi there,:D

I'm new the DSLR world. Got the Rebel XT last week. I'm headed to LA in a few weeks. Where is a good place to shop for New Lens? I'm looking for a good price and place where I can actually put on the lens and look through it. The only places up here in Alaska are Ritz/Kits Camera and a long time photo store in Anchorage called Stewart's Photo. All are about 3 hours away from me.

Thanks for any info.
Robert:cool:

PS. Mainly looking for a nice zoom lens. I have been reading on the net about the EF-S 17-85 and the EF 28-135

I'll second the Conoga and Samys. Best places with good selections.

I third Samy's only I would say go to their store in Pasadena--Where the Rose Bowl and New Years Parade is held. Just about a 10 minute drive from downtown Los Angeles. I had a very good experience with them recently. They exhanged a lens I had for 3 months for a new one since my original produced soft images. Had no problem with the exchange from Michelle (manager).

HI there,:D

Thanks for all the replies. I liked Samys website. Looks like I can't rent anything from them. They want a CA Driver's License. I kind of like that EF-S 17-85 lens. I might have to forget the new tires for my car and get a lens. I was playing around with the camera again lastnight. I only have 1 bar left on the battery after about 100 pics. in a week. I did lots of playing around, transferred pics. to the computer 6 or 7 times. I'll have to recharge the battery and see how long it lasts again. I might need another battery.
