Grobschmidt Park (Franklin, WI) continues to deliver! OMG a Sora! I was sitting on the lakeside bench watching Coots on the other side of the lake when I heard this loud "WEEP!" What was that? A wounded Mink?? After 4 or 5 calls, I spotted him ... deep in the cattails next to me, about 2 feet in from the edge. I slowly raised my camera and then didn't move a muscle. He finally crossed in front of me, then back into the reeds. He never made a sound again after that. Lifer for me. WOW!

When he swam, he'd stick his neck out - back and forth. Pretty cool!

Awesome catch! I've only heard and yet to see—let alone capture so expertly.

Good job. I got my first shots of a couple this spring. It's not that they are particularly skittish, but they sure like to embed themselves in vegetation.
