Hi All,

Im looking to buy all new kit in one swoop. I'm going big and looking at the following:

5D3

16-35 F4
24-70 F2.4 II
35L
50L
85L
135L
70-200 IS 2.8 II
Tam 150-600

Reason being I can get it tax free for a brief period due to work. I photograph landscapes, weddings, catwalks, wildlife, etc.

Can anyone recommend a cheap, reputable EU/UK shop online or otherwise they would trust with such a big order?

2nd Q, would you recommend ditching a lens (and if so what lens) to pick up an additional body i.e. 6D?

3rd Q. when is the 5d4 out ;)

Hopefully the list doesn look like over kill. I have pondered/researched long and hard about primes vs zooms and have come to the conclusion that both would get fair use.

Any words from the wise appreciated.

Used WEX before and they were great BUT I'm not against imports tbh due to the saving. Panamoz?

I would ditch the 50L for a 6D (or 7D2).

I suppose it makes sense to drop the 50 although it is such a beaut lens. Not the sharpest but the perspective and colours are fantastic. Hmmm

So stay with the holy trinity and look at an extra body.

Another vote for Wex, used them many times. Amazon too but not sure how prices compare there. Also used Dale photographic & clifton cameras

If it were me I would have -

5D3
16-35 F4
Sigma 35 ART
85L or 85 1.8
135L

But thats just me, doesnt mean its best for you. If money was no issue then I would have them all though.

Since you said weddings then the 24-70 and the 70-200 could be useful.

Why dont you just buy everything second hand? Would that not work out cheaper than tax free?

Thanks for the reply Eddie,

Can't fault the ability of the sig but concerned that the colouring is v different to the canon so adds extra processing time if doing an event for uniformity. I might be worrying about nothing though.

I would buy used but it amazes me how high items go for, eBay for example. Comparing that to tax free I don't think there's a lot in it once you take 20% off new plus whatever the shop might offer in addition. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places for used items

I actually did notice this when I owned it, it rendered cooler than my canon glass from memory. It wasnt something that bothered me though and I plan on re-purchasing the lens but I appreciate that if you were doing an event/wedding with multiple lenses it could quickly become a PITA. I owned the 35L previous to the sigma and although it wasnt as sharp wide open it was still a stellar lens so you cant really go wrong there

With ebay fees and paypal fees, coupled with higher shipping costs, sellers are raising their typical prices 10-20% these days. Ebay is the last place I look anymore. :(

Yup. I just picked up a new Tokina 16-28 f2.8 for $700. People were selling the same lens used for over $800.

85L
135L Zeiss 135mm T f/2
70-200 IS 2.8 II
Tam 150-600 if you could wait, then either the new sigma or...upcoming canon 100-400mm II
