This was our very first night out from our camping trip. We had fun times and scary times! This image was a scary time  It was about 3am and we were shooting at Glacier Point. It was nice and dark and quiet. Quiet till we heard howling near by. It sound like 4-5 individual animals, coyotes? Being city boys my friend and I said to each other "Let's get the *$@# out of here!!!" I am glad the shot came out. Made it worth the experience

I really like that image, Chris! Great work making sure the stars didn't "move" on you!

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Yes it is dark there , hope you got more . Those howling animals were probably Wolfs . Quite bigger and meaner than coyotes . Wolfs usually run in packs but coyotes run alone alot .

Actually, coyotes run in sibling groups quite often, and are far more vocal than wolves. Their howling sound is very different from that of the wolf; quite difficult to mistake one for the other if you are familiar with each. There are gazillions of coyotes in Yosemite, and there are very, very few wolves in the area. Really, really, really unlikely that what the OP heard were wolves.

Your probably right . I'm not very familiar with the Yosemite area . What coyotes i have seen tho have always run alone . I've never seen two or more together . That's out here in W.Texas tho . Now in E.Texas they may run closer in small packs cause when one sarts howling the others follow suit . Never seen a wolf in Texas tho . Not saying they are not here . Just i never seen one . Seen lot's of coyotes tho , pups to grownups . Always they have been alone .

Are coyotes dangers? The first howl we heard sound very aggressive. The following howls were cowardly like and overlapped each other. Sound like they were answering the first guy

No. And that answer is based on lots and lots of actual experience observing and photographing coyotes in the wild. I see them just about every day here where I live. In fact, it's hard to go out anywhere around here and not see a coyote.

The main thing around coyotes is if you have small pets keep them safe . Cats are a delicacy !

We had coyotes on our ranch. They often run in packs and are actually quite timid. One loud shout at them and they will flee. However, stay the H away from any coyote that is acting odd. They are carriers of rabies.

Beautiful photographs.
