Ever have a couple that just ISNT affectionate at all? Then on the same day the bride is sick to the point of puking every 10 minutes? Here was my attempt to make them laugh as much as possible and capture what i could haha.

If I was a bride and my "to be" husband showed up on our wedding day dressed like that I too would be puking constantly. Sorry, don't mean to offend anybody but that is totally low class. At least the bride is dressed appropriately.

I wore linen pants, linen shirt and flip flops for my wedding. Would you have an issue with that? Why is it low class if it's what he wanted to wear? I'm sure they talked about it. Not every groom needs to wear a monkey suit. Some people don't care for a tux.

I would say that if the bride took the time and effort to look the way she is, it would be an expectation that the other party, as well invited guests, reciprocate the respect that the ceremony deserves and the bride anticipates. Clearly in several of the pictures the bride does not look genuinely happy and has a somewhat forced smile. At a formal wedding what you want to wear and what you are expected to wear are usually two different things. I didn't attend your wedding, but if it was a formal wedding and your bride was dressed in traditional wedding garb, then yes i would have an issue with your flip flops.

She was in a regular wedding dress. We told all of our guests to dress casual based on the theme of the wedding. She wanted the dress. She didn't want everyone else to have to dress up and I didn't want to wear a tux.

Who are you to have an issue with it even if you were a guest? When it's your wedding you can do what you want.

You'd be surprised how many weddings do not have the traditional tuxes anymore. I can think of 1 out of maybe 15 that I either 2nd shot or attended this year where the groom wore a full tux. Most were dressed exactly like the groom with a shirt, vest and dress slacks or nice jeans. What Numenorean did is actually quite common, at least where I live.

As for guests, I saw way to many dudes wearing wife beaters and no shoes this summer at weddings. I also 2nd shot a wedding where the best man was wearing a vest and pants. No shoes nor shirt.

Lack of readily seen affection, the bride not being overjoyed... there might be way more than meets the eye with this couple. But no judgments can be made or conclusions reached without fully investigating the matter; and because their personal lives and what's going between them is none of our business, the best thing to do in these cases is to make the best images we can and not ask too many questions.

There's also the fact that A LOT of people are just not comfortable in front of the camera, nor with shewing their affection for each other in front of strangers.

OP, for what you describe, I think you did fine. I also don't understand the problem with what he's wearing. It's their wedding. Why would I, the photographer, give two rips about what he's wearing?? It's not my place and it's none of my business. And if I'm thinking about that, I'm not doing my job. I've seen tons of people get married on a beach with the bride in a dress and the groom in linen pants and sandals.

I wasn't the one concerned with their attire.
