Sigma 150-500

i never used the case, i would use a backpack with the camera mounted on the lens...but that was typically hiking for a few miles to use it...congrats on the lens

I just carry mine /camera in hand lens resting on arm walk for miles like that and it is always ready for the unexpected shot

Mine is either in my flipside sport backpack, hanging by my side (body attached) on a Black Rapid strap or on a monopod over my shoulder. Depends on how I feel and where I am.

I carry it around the woods or at the zoo by mostly hand holding (cradling).

If in a bag, I have a few waist pack or backpack, but prefer off camera in a long lens bag without the collar (put it on latter) using on a Lowepro S&F belt.

I also have the arca-swiss on the tripod foot and have used an old version of the Kirk SS-1 Security Strap.

Carrying "around the neck" I use a Op/Tech Dual harness with the lens lock on to prevent LC.

I would have linked, but with the change of the web site I haven't figured out how yet.

I certainly hope you got a better copy than the one I got. The IQ was pretty good but the OS, as Sigma calls it, was horrible. It was almost, no totally, un-useable. It got sent to Sigma who "repaired" and updated the firmware under warranty. They sent it back and it was no different or better.
With the OS off it was an OK lens but I wanted it for hummingbirds.
I since sold it and yes clearly stating I didn't think the OS was right and bought the Sigma 120-300mm f2.8.
It is a fantastic lens and does accept the 1.4x TC very well which the 150-500mm does not at all.

OS is a little noisy but appears to be working fine. The vast majority of my shots are handheld. Couple more, one of these was panning with OS on.

It certainly looks like you got a good one. I am so glad you did as I did like mine without OS on.
