More Canon refurb clearance sales. These were both over $400 a couple years ago and are top quality compacts:

$120 - S100, very similar to S120: http://shop.usa.canon.com …ot-s100-black-refurbished (external link)

$150 - SX40HS, viewfinder and 840mm zoom: http://shop.usa.canon.com …rshot-sx40-hs-refurbished (external link)

I had bought my wife an S100 new for 400 a month after release. bought a few batteries for it too. one year later I got 200 bucks for it.

Learned.... buy a year old model ;) I picked up a year old model S120 for 149.99 on ebay for my aunt.

$120 is pretty cheap and the camera is pretty durable.

IQ isn't great though.

SX40 is very tempting. But the SX60 specs are so good.
