Does any know the serial number location on the following lens

800mm f5.6, 600mm f4 and 400mm f2.8?

That's the date code.

My 500 isn't in front of me, but I think it's on the lens barrel near the lens mount. Black text.

I guess it's the same for the other superteles.

you're right...totally blew that...according to canon's site, on 'where is my serial number' it should be towards the mount on the barrel

I thought the same as you until I remembered the other number printed on the barrel!

Yup ~ the underside of the lens, hard-by the lens mount.

Here's the 300mm ƒ4. The x1.4 MkII extender observes the same placement convention.
