I bought the Loka earlier this year to carry my gear on a trip to Alaska last summer where it performed admirably. Wish I'd bought the malibu blue rather than foliage green though.

Re: the color choice, is there a reason for liking the blue over the green, or just a personal preference?

For some things I can see wanting a more subdued color , and other times brighter is better, just curious is all. If I eventually get one I'm thinking the more neutral lower keyed green.

Thanks for the review. I too have been looking for a new backpack for a trip I will be taking this spring.
I plan on taking my 5dMIII, 24-70 f2.8, 70 - 200 f2.8, both with hoods, 600ex flash and my 1.4 extender.
I have been looking at the Loka with the large Pro ICU and wasn't sure it would work for what I wanted. I have a Kata now and it is just too small to fit everything even when fully expanded.
I have a Tenba Shootout backpack, Large - which I think is too large for me to carry around all day. So... I am still trying to determine if this is the right fit or not.
Any more suggestions?

Your gear will fit easily in the large ICU. It will also fit in the medium. Write to f-stop, and they will fit the gear and send you a photo.

Get the medium pro, it will fit everything with a bit of space left over.
