I must admit I did have to research the theme. As if that wasn't difficult enough I hummed and harred ages between Sibil and OldCrow. Both were bang on subject, both showed excellent images and I especially liked the flower in Sybils' picture. But had to go with the almost clear negative space, though I did use a different view with my first choice as it seemed such a good choice of inverted negative space within the centre of the picture.

In research I found an urn with a black background but the edges formed two faces looking outwards. That decided me on my first choice, the clear background ensured the second and eventually the third choice. Though I had seen some examples of Bokeh described as negative space too. Had I had one prepared I would have most likely used one. Certainly made me think this time.

I had this but would not use it as it was a picture of a canvas print and not fair to use it;

I use things like this for practice and have carried it including frame to our local photography club. Not a mean feat when you walk with a stick..... About 4' by 2.5' in size. Well done the winners, I am so proud just to get a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place vote.

Cameras: SX 50HS, Panasonic Lumix TZ30(ZS20)

Great subject and another excellent set of images. Thanks for giving me the nod on the tie-breaker, OldCrow. Like Rieder, I had to do some research on the subject; I also saw the urn/faces image.

As usual, I let my wife pick the image (I give her a few to choose from). My first choice was this butterfly that I saw along one of the local trails a couple years ago, but I guess the wife knows best ;)

The butterfly would make an excellent choice as well.
