This thing better have "OS" in it (though I don't see any "OS" designation in the name).

and to think the 70-200 DG is til listed as new on their site.
OS would be cool but hopefully if something new comes it, it drops the price on the current 70-200

and whats a 4/3 camera system

What if you could get the new OS version for the same price as Canon's non-IS version?

So the only thing difference I can see is that the new 70-200 will have Macro capabilities?

Your guess is as good as mine. Good riddance, Sigma. Give us 2nd generation "OS". It's all getting old.

Truth be told I don't even look at many Sigma lenses anymore. They dropped the ball on most potential L contenders by leaving off either HSM or OS or, more often than not, both.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

I wouldn't throw the baby out with the bath water. They've still got some EXcellent glass (e.g., 1020EX, 1850EX, 2470EX, 150EX Macro, 70200EX, Bigma, 100300EX, 120300EX, 300EX, 500EX, 800EX, SigMonster, to name a few). But they need to add HSM and OS to more lenses, I'll agree with that.

[Yay, 1000 posts...am I now a gold member? I suppose I'll find out the moment I press "submit reply". Let's see what happens...]

Cool, this means that there will be a price drop on the non macro version of the 70-200 EX DG. Might pick one up to compliment the 120-300 I am getting

Result & well earned :)

If in doubt, I shut up...

Gear: 40D, 12-24mm AT-X Pro, 17-85mm, Sigma 150mm Macro Sigma 100-300 F4, 550EX, other stuff that probably helps me on my way.

Macro is cool but man they need to get on the wagon with OS lens selections.

The Sigmonster is not exactly a lens with a lot of competition, but I'd love to get my hands on one some day :)
