OU player injured by camera on field....

Thoughts on this. Also thought on safety for sports photographers and athletes in general.

Back in college, I served a few semesters as the camera guy under the basket for home basketball games that were livecast over the OVU online network. Got clipped once and totally whipped out on a second occasion. The first time although we avoided most of the collision his foot got caught in one of the camera cables sending the feed to our switcher and ripped it and most of the connection out of the body so we had to send the camera off for repair.

The second time I was looking the other way shooting another player approaching the goal for an oop and got destroyed. We both had the wind knocked out of us but got up he kept playing and I kept shooting. Camera was totally fine.

If your going to shoot sports and plan to be anywhere near the field of play your going to be in the line of fire, and man is it exciting!

This would be my favorite, but no one was hurt, no gear messed up!!!!!!

One reason why you should always have one eye on safety while the other takes the photo.
