i use my powerbook at different locations (work, home, paneras, starbucks etc.) so the same screen brightness doesn't always apply. When calibrating with spyder2 the set-up calls for the screen to be as (low)dim ,that you can just make out their gray scale of 5 blocks individually. After running through the entire procedure you are told that if you make any future adjustments ( i'm assuming brightness control ) the profile is null & void essentially. Am I understanding this right ? I have unchecked the auto brightness box to eliminate the slider control from moving. Should I calibrate with the brightness up high ( on a scale of 1-10, "8" ) which would be more usable given the ambient lighting changes ?
I am planning on purchasing a 20" or better monitor in the future, but i'll have to get buy for now after my Canon 20d & 3 lens buying spree. I do have a i9900 printer that rocks!!!! (more ? on that later) :)

thanks
mark
