Giraffe eating a sausage

These were taken in Botswana in July. We watched this unfold for about 20 mins or so. In the end he just spat it out.......guess it was just to hard

What a fun set! I agree with Mark, it looks more like a cigar, a giant cigar! Why would a giraffe want to eat sausage? Nicely done!

Excellent captures. What kind of sausage grows in Botswana?

It's the fruit of a Kigelia tree, often called a sausage tree because the fruits look like sausages hanging from the tree.

Great series, 6196 and 6216 are particularly good for the cigar analogy.
