with all the excitment all they're going to end up releasing is a consumer scanner or printer probably... and this will cause me to die a little on the inside.

It's a specialized version of the 20D, altered for use in astrophotography. It has a revised infrared filter design and other changes that make it more suitable for capturing the near-invisible infrared light from deep space objects such as gas clouds and nova.

Yes but I read that Canon was to make their official announcement on Feb 21st. It's not April 1st is it?

There is a new Canon EOS 30D. Is official. I am not impressed. Not much improvement over the 20D.
