My heart is pounding. I got woken up by one of my kids that the older sibiling is stuck outside in her car as there is yet another bear visiting us. I went out, with camera in hand, to find my self within 10 feet of this one. As I snaped a pic, the bear growled and took a an attacking position. Well crap, I quickly exchanged the camera with a stick and started yelling. Luckily the bear walked away. The closest encounter yet, and the third in one week.

Wow, Sibil, I guess that was nature throwing you a real curve!

Nice selection of curves, Ricardo.

Thank you very much. Nature is much more gentle here!

Growing old disgracefully!

Wow, good to know you're safe and unharmed!!

Levina, nice curves and lighting in both shots. Don't let the folks in the thread about shooting strangers' children see that first one. They have such predictable imaginations.

LOL. Indeed! Thanks, OhLook.

Timphoto wrote in post #17231915 (external link)
Nice curves Levina. Back lighting something that small must have been a bit of a challenge.

OhLook, predictable wasn't one of the words my wife said when I suggested she would be a good curves subject.

Thanks, Tim. I see I'm not the only one who got to hear a few things when asking people to pose...

Ricardo222 wrote in post #17232035 (external link)
Levina, I love both of those shots. I have to say that your feet are much more elegant than mine!

It's all in the lighting, Richard! :D
Thank you very much.

That is very scary, Sibil. I'm so glad it ended well!

OhLook, I like those natural curves you photographed! Really cool to use shadows like that.

Richard, those are all wonderful curves! That "cat tail" looks amazing.

Sibil - can you tell if it is the same bear? If they're getting that aggressive it might be time to call animal control and have the bear relocated.

Agree with Tim. Sibil, those bears are getting too close. I'm surprised that ordinary nonsecure trash containers are allowed where you live.

From Yosemite's rules for visitors:

BEAR POLICY: All items must be removed from your car which may attract a bear. Please put these in your hotel room, cottage, or trash can. Be sure to remove all food, including unopened bottles, ice chests, and scented items including, soap, sunscreen, and trash. Please understand that your car may be towed and cited up to $5000 if any of these items are left unattended in the car.

As I was making dinner I noticed a lot of curves: from the pots and pans to the spoons, the stove and the vegetables themselves. Even the flames have them.

I know that feeling. One time when I was camping while sleeping in our tent we get woken up by some noise just outside. I unzip the tent door to go have a look and there's a bear standing there just past arms reach.

Oh, those are beautiful, Joayne!
Very well photographed.

The second is kinda funny as it reminds me of a urinoir (urinal in English maybe?).

The doll is a cutie, isn't she?

My toenails were painted already though. :)

My take: A nun, looking down. The white area is the "bib" part of her habit.

Kitchens and seashells abound in curves. I enjoyed Levina's and joayne's contributions.
