Hi guys

Finally ive got my feisol legs along with the sirui k30 ballhead and the sirui L bracket for my 6D. Now im confused as the L bracket did not have any guarantee card or similar nor was there an instruction manual on how to mount it. Basically ive got two screws with my L bracket. A longer one and a smaller one. Now i tried to attach the L brackett with the long one, didnt work so well so i took the smaller one and now it holds everything together. Nice thing, but whats the other, longer screw for?

And for those who have L bracket too, have you got an instruction manual and a guarantee card?

Thanks,
David

Not me but it looks nice. I Googled for instructions and didn't find any. The B&H Web site says the 6-year warranty comes in the box. No mention of instructions.

I can only guess the extra screw may be for attaching something to the threaded hole in the bottom of the L-bracket.

Enjoy!

Okay thank you. Ive googled too for something but no results. Im kind of confused as there was not one paper inside the box, only the product itself, which is weird since ive never seen a product coming without papers or books or at least a card or something. I will try too call the seller and ask where the papers are..

So i have called the seller, she said only bigger products like legs and heads from sirui are coming with a guarantee card. So it seems to be okay :)

And about the other screw, well it works so doesnt matter

David,

I'm glad you got it sorted out. My RRS and Kirk plates come with a couple extra small screws. They go into the bottom of the plate to keep your camera from falling out of the clamp if you don't have it tightened down properly. They called "safety screws"... of all things. ;)

I'm not sure if those are the screws to which you are referring with your Sirui bracket.

If you used the shorter one to attach the L-bracket to the camera body then the longer one isn't a safety stop screw. The short one will have a 1/4"-20 thread to screw into the bottom of the camera, did the longer one have the same thread? If so it's likely that it has some Sirui-specific attachment function.

Yeah, they both would fit through the L bracket into my camera. I first thought the small one would be too small to reach into the camera hole, but i figured out that the long one was too long and thus not attaching the L tight enough. I also see that the L has 2 or 3 other holes in that thread size, but really makes no sense to me. Maybe the screw is to attach a lighting rig or something. However that piece looks good and is working well. And since its the same brand as the head i feel like it is perfactly made for each other. Would still be nice to hear for what it actually is though.

They make brackets for different camera models. Perhaps some brackets are thicker than others and require a slightly longer screw. It might be easier to include both screws with every bracket than sorting screws during the packaging process.
