Beautiful shot, Joel. Would you mind sharing the set up and parameters you used? I've attempted mushroom shots in the past and they look absolutely nothing like that. It's terrific...

RonnF, I took this picture a couple of years ago before I got my Canon DSLR. I used my Sony F717 five mega-pixel P&S camera. I checked the EXIF info for you and found these results:

Shutter: 1/20th (Handheld with my hand braced on the ground)
Aperture: F/6.3
Focal length: 9.7mm (The widest length on the camera)

I hope that answers some of your questions although I understand you'll have to formulate the differences between the Sony P&S and your DSLR.
