Another lucky encounter but not so much in the weather department. Strong wind made it close to impossible to keep the focus point where it should be with a long lens handheld.

These are all really good, especially number 6. The clarity handheld is amazing...I couldn't get that on a tripod!

You did an outstanding job on these, especially in windy conditions. Some great action/wing positions captured. I'd sure like to photograph these birds one day.

You have your Image Editing turned on so I made a quick edit to up the exposure. There's a lot of nice structure on the underside of the wings that gets a bit lost in the shadows. I could have brightened it a bit more but since it was sunset I didn't want to lose that feel. Again, really nice flight work, I'd be thrilled to have these in my collection.

Thank you for the comment and for your edit. I usually try to keep editing to the minimum, as especially with bumping the exposure, it tends to reveal too much noise, but I like your modification and yes, the beautiful plumage of these birds is definitely worth highlighting.

Love viewing the all the bird photos on this site as the case with yours great shots. Now for the
dumb question in frames 2and 3 is that a red tag of sorts on the birds wing?

Yes. The bird has been tagged. Somebody did a good job with not attaching one of these humongous number tags to him.
