I've been CPS member for a good 4+ years. Before they switched to the new system, whenever I sent an item to them for cleaning along with the voucher (still remember those?) and asked to clean, inspect and adjust focus, the lens or camera always came back with a note "Cleaned, and AF adjusted to factory specs".
With the new CMS (Canon Maintenance Service), they don't do that any more and if you're asking for anything else beyond just wiping the outside of the lens or body (the exact words of the CPS rep who answered the phone), they will charge you standard rate minus the 20% discount before they even look at it.
So for $100 bucks a year for Gold member, they don't do swat for your items and just wipe the outside with a cloth. I sent in 4 items for cleaning and adjustment and the bill cameback around $800. Damn!
