Are you certain a compass heading or camera orientation will be acquired by the 7DII? That would require additional hardware above and beyond the GPS circuitry and its associated algorithms. The GPS cannot display a heading unless there is motion and the the heading is determined by looking at succesive points as defined by latitude and longitude. The non-automotive GPS units today, like those used by hikers, have a built in electronic magnetometer to provide a heading. Stand in one spot and turn your body full circle and it is the magnetometer that tracks your orientation, not the GPS hardware.
