Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM

After selling my 85L I was a bit skeptical getting the 85mm f1.8 because well.. it doesn't have a red ring and I would loose a stop of light, but then again I would gain focussing speed which is important to me. Besides at f1.2 the DOF is so shallow that I'd rather not use it for the kind of pictures I take.


anyways here is a picture from a concert a few days ago in Brussels. Suffice it to say I like this little lens. It's alot smaller which doesn't look so professional as a 85L but hey when you are in the pit

I like this lens, nice and sharp - shot at f5.0 1/125th ISO100 on 5DMKII, manual focus doing self portrait on 10 sec timer.
