How did you get such nice focus on the last one "cheeeeese"? I really like the shallow DOF but whenever I try it with this lens, my DOF is too small, but you got a beautiful background, but really nice focus. Did you use a pod of some sort? Or was it handheld? Flashgun? I shot this handheld (no pod) with only natural light. I was about 6 feet from the subject I cannot check the exif on this computer because it is running IE 7 and flickr refuses to work on it. But I think I shot that at f/2.2? Normally If I cannot get someones entire face in focus I just stop down a bit. I had a feeling since I was fairly close I would of needed a smaller aperture to get the shot. Plus it helps to use a fast shutter speed when possible which isnt hard with this lens -Brandon-

So tempting. heck no...I can't live without my 24-70..the 85 is a great addition past the range of the 24-70, but up close, I could not live without the 24-70. Website

So tempting. the IQ of the 85 is above the 24-70, but no way could I live without a standard zoom. This lens is kind of hard to work with due to the FL. Try taping your lens to 70mm and shooting for a while.... the 85 is a little bit narrower...
