Had this lens for 2 years and is hands down one of the best lenses I have tried.

I was inspired by all the great pictures on here so I got one. I'd like to get a full frame next but the 5DIII is still pretty expensive. I'm shooting with the T2i now. Just wondering if I need to spend $30+ on the hood. You know I would say yes. The reason I say yes is that I hated the OEM hood with the pinch style fastener and that is what the cheap 10 dollar hood I bought has as well. It does feel cheap though. However when I suggested to someone else they not spend 30 bucks on a piece of plastic a while back several people gave some reasons that you might want to get the OEM hood. For me the cheapy is working fine. Cory

I would want to be careful simply because if it is not OEM then you want to make sure it fits properly and stays attached like you want.
