I have a third party hood, it is a real pain in the arse. I suspect the Canon one wouldn't be much better. There just isn't much of a lip for it to grip. Current Gear: Canon T4i (gripped), Canon 10-22mm, Sigma 30mm 1.4, Canon EF 85 1.8, 18-55mm Kit, 55-250mm, Yogo YN-468 Flash, LR 4, Carryspeed Slim, lots of bags.

Gotta ask yourself if you really need one. If you're shooting in situations where you need to control flare a lot - or you're keeping the hood on just for protection purposes - then maybe spending the $25 is worth it to you. Tumblr

I guess the fedex plane was stormed in at Memphis today so i will get it tomorrow instead now. My lens hood showed up today tho. Looks ok i bought the OEM hood. The 1st one is taken at f/4 and the second one at f/2. I like the 1st one better then the second. The depth of field is really tight that wide open. I prefer not really tight, Other then that i think the image quality is excellent. I love the the way it works so far. I think this will be the lens i grab when i do portraits for sure.
