I was hoping someone could offer me some guidance on this. I just obtained a used 60D and went onto the Canon website to download/update my software with the newest versions. If I take a photo with the camera it shows in Zoombrowser but if I go into DPP or CS3 and try to open the picture there the folder with the pictures does not exist. For some reason in Zoombrowser the newest folder dated today is bold even if I'm looking in another folder. I don't remember it like this before.

From Zoombrowser if I choose edit in DPP or CS3, the two options I had from when I shot with my T3i it will open the JPEG but not the RAW files. For the RAW files it says "To edit a RAW image, it must be converted into an editable image type".

Any ideas?

I just saw on the Canon site that I can download the whole solutions disk for the 60D so tomorrow I'll uninstall all the stuff I have on the computer and download the 60D solutions disk.

If you updated DPP to a newer version it should open the Raw/CR2 file...maybe you updated ZoomBrowser but not DPP?

No way Photoshop CS3 would open a 60D Raw file.

Thanks! It may very well be able to open them but if I go directly into DPP or CS3 the folder containing the pictures taken with the 60D doesn't even exist, despite it being visible in Zoombrowser. Maybe if I can get it to show the folder it will open it when trying the edit in DPP/CS3 command in Zoombrowser.

I just did a little more testing. The folder 2014_10_23 for instance is ONLY visible in Zoombrowser. Even if I go to C: to find the folder there it doesn't exist.

I kind of figured things out. I uninstalled all the Canon software on my computer and then reinstalled the solutions disk from the Canon website. For whatever reason the pictures and date folder were still invisible in the place I keep all my folders so I set up a new folder to download the images into and now they appear in my C:.

I have a few DPP/CS3 questions though. When I transfer the JPG from DPP to CS3 in opens as a TIFF in CS3. To save as a JPG again I have to change it to 8 bit but then the new adjusted JPG is not viewable in Imagebrowser or DPP. In IB it shows up as a "?" in DPP it shows an empty square with an "X" through it. Any ideas?

In DPP is there a way to toggle between all my photos in a folder other than double clicking on each photo?

Imagebrowser sucks. Is there a way to get Zoombrowser back?

You can select some or all and then click Quick Check. In there is an option for a larger view as well. Mark as reject while in that view and later do a select rejected and hit delete to remove them.

Thanks.
I found a download for Zoombrowser so will just go back to that for viewing.
