Beautiful model. Nice lighting on her face. The background is a little *busy* in my view. Overall tho a nice shot....

I like it, but the background is too distracting... I agree.
Also, I think the light on her face is too bright and hard. Can you diffuse it? and maybe spread it so it doesnt burn out on her forehead?

Its a beautiful model and classic pose I think it could be a nice shot.

Your title says it all. Perhaps beautiful is even an understatement. I agree, distracting background. Do us all a favour- get her to model for you again! (Don't forget to share the results).

The background is very busy and distracting.
The lighting on the model's face is from directly above her forehead and is much too narrow (like a spotlight) and extremely harsh.
The lighting for the neck down is near ideal, but the pose is very strange - not at all relaxed. The color balance seems to be about right. The exposure is very good, considering the problems with the lighting. I see no evidence of any other dedicated light present, so it looks like there is just the ambient room light and the one spotlight.

I would suggest backing off with the lighting and use of a diffuser. Lowering the elevation of the light would help, also. However, as with most portraits, it will take at least two controlled lights to do any portrait justice.

There is something special in this picture. Robert et all are technically correct but the picture to me says something in her eyes and you being there. Thats the difference between glam and portrait IMO

Work with this model/wife and you will be ....... special

    well done

As usual, I forget to make any comments on the emotive aspects of the image. You're quite right - there is "something going on" in this picture. A degree of mystery that adds to it.

I agree with the background, but also the shoulder strap attachment puts me off. It is small but if you see it you keep looking as it breaks up the curve of the garment..
