Nice work which really puts the size of AR2192 into perspective.

Cheers

Wow ! That puts it into perspective.
We had the PST out yesterday, watching the flare go off. That was awesome. Sorry, no pics.

Steve.

I want a Coronado but not sure the costs is justified to just view a single object :(

Nice work again Peter;

fwiw I was tipped off by the photo site PetaPixel to a 4k UHDTV video of this, and watched it last night with my 12 year old daughter
http://petapixel.com …largest-sunspot-22-years/ (external link)

This 4K Time-Lapse of the Sun Features the Largest Sunspot in the Past 22 Years

James Tyrwhitt-Drake recently combined over 17,000 images captured by NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory and Helioviewer.org to create a time-lapse showing the largest sun spot of the past two solar cycles — that’s roughly 22 years!

The eight-minute video begins on October 14th, 2014 and ends on October 30th, 2014. Displaying roughly 52.5 minutes of real-time per minute of video, the 17,000 4K resolution images used added up to approximately 72GB worth of data.

I just bought a Vizio 55" P series 4k UHDTV 2 weeks ago, so this was perfect chance to test it out

Did you use video frames for the Jupiter image? I have a SSD recorder that will record HD video with out any compression. I think its going to work great for planetary shots. Nice image.

With increasing screen rez due to better technology,
with decreasing eye sight due to better wiser age!
All I can say is that I am happy 480 scanning line is increased to whatever as long as I can see any difference!!

I hope I'm not hijacking this thread, if so just tell me and I'll delete my post but here's a shot I took of AR2192 on Oct.23, 2014 at 10:40am local time.
Canon 5D Mark II attached to my Meade 12" SCT GPS scope. 30 seconds of video captured and processed using RegiStax software.
