A nice concept but in my eyes it's overprocessed. personally i'm not a fan of the bleach bypass / HDR look.

There is an obvious glow around the subject, can't recall what we call that. But it is distracting. I like the basic composition and subject matter. I hope to be visiting Lancaster, PA in another week, and will see many of these.

I think cutting off the back of the buggy was not ideal.

All of the buggy would make the picture more 'complete', and ease back on the sliders, mate. Not pretty.

Seems like the horse/buggy is a single object, so cutting it off looks like a mistake or carelessness, anyway, the photo seems incomplete that way, to me at least.

Understood, I was trying to make the horse more of the focus and how he's moving through the frame, but can see your point as well...

Based on the first or the second, if on the second - please give me more input...

I'm still noticing a halo around the horse, most evident around its legs.

I agree that seeing the complete wagon would make a better composition. As to processing, it appears that the highlights/shadows sliders were 'cranked up' a lot as well as the clarity slider. To me, I think the image needs more depth of light to dark.

To my eyes, the image also seems to have a brownish tone throughout as well.

Here's a quick edit where I tried to counteract the 'hdr' look and adjust the tones a little too. I didn't add the vignette, that was there from your original post.

With an overcast day and in the attempt to catch a moving object, it would have made a lot of sense to shoot at higher than ISO 100 to get the shutter much faster than 1/250. There is quite a bit of (seemingly) unintended motion blur. I agree with the others on the processing, as well.

Last version above is a bit easier on the eye. HDR best avoided IMHO. Over-sharpening just ruins a pic.
