Kirk or RRS L Bracket for 5DMkIII?

I'm contemplating getting an L bracket for my 5DMkIII. I'm looking at the Kirk and the Really Right Stuff.
Does anyone have any preference, and why?

Hi Killjoy! I've got RSS brackets on a 5Dc and 5d mkII and think they are the fine..
...but remember you will have to pay tax.

I've got one Kirk on a 1DmkIII and it seems perfectly fine.
So I don't really have a preference between them.. and they seem to be the same price. I don't think
there is really a big difference and you get that little cable thingy with the Kirk

I have RRS L brackets and lots of their stuff. Made very well and works well with their stuff. I haven't tried a Kirk so I can't compare.

Are the side covers easily accessible with both brackets? Can you easily plug in a remote shutter on each of them?

Yes .. But I do have small hands lol. The openings are made so you can access battery, cards and cables etc.

I have a KIrk L for the 5D3 and RRS Ls for my other bodies. You won't go wrong with either, both manufacturers make quality products.

I did read somewhere that if you attach a strap to the camera lugs, the lug on the left is blocked by the RSS bracket and you have to remove the bracket to attach. The Kirk bracket comes with an optional use piece that creates a new attachment point for the strap, so you don't have to remove the bracket to attach. Best to double check as RSS sometimes comes out with a design revision, so they may have changed that.

I also have used RRS L-brackets until I got my 5D3. The original version of the RRS L-bracket for the 5D3 apparently wasn't very well done so I ended up going with the Kirk one. It seems to have a similar build quality as the RRS brackets I was used to.

I have, or have had, several of each and you can't really go wrong with either. They are both of the very highest quality, and will get the job done without issue. That said, when I have a choice, I will pick the RRS brackets over Kirk only because they seem to be a little more "refined", more rounded corners and smoother radiuses where there are curves, while Kirks tend to be a little less rounded. Buy either and be happy!

I've owned a few RRS L brackets, but for the 5D3, I'de look at sirui or some off other high quality knockoff. Heck my $20 knockoff for the A7r is 90% as good as the $200 RRS bracket.

I have a Kirk bracket on mine and I'm happy with it.

Take a look at the Sunwayphoto L brackets. Quality is great and it looks pretty much the same as the RRS bracket. Plus, it's 1/2 the price. Bought mine from an ebay seller. Fast delivery, too.
