hmm, if you pressed the button of the transmitter and it worked, then you can rule out interference. You can rules out issues with the flash itself and batteries.

I've used the 602's and every "no flash" issue I ever had was either related to seating of the transmitter or battery issues.

I guess it had to be not seated correctly. The strange thing is I left the tx on the camera and put the camera in the bag for the ride home. I left it as is until morning when I pulled the camera and flash out and turned everything on and it all worked fine.

I ordered some 622c's. Hopefully problem solved.

Do the 622's also work as a remote shutter release (5D Mk III) as in previous models?

What mode were you shooting?

I have 602's and the only funny thing I noticed is it will not transmit in av....iirc.

Can't test it now, but I remember it not working in certain modes...

give it a shot.

The hotshoe remains sctive in av and the 602's are dummy triggers whose only purpose is to send the fire signal sit shouldn't matter.

I bought a couple of sets of RF-602s a few years back when they hit the market. I've found them incredibly reliable.

Same as yogeste, I am still using my RF602/603 with my 5Dii, 60D and lately Sony A7 and sometimes Leica M-E and it still performs flawlessly. The problem once a while is only the battery on the receiver running out because I forget the replace it with new fresh one :)
So like other said in the previous post, it must be the contact between the tx and the hotshoe.
