Better get the tiffen filter set (3 filters of 1, 2 and 3 stops), which comes in at the same price range, as those variable nd's are not too good in image quality. You will want to use quality glass in front of your nice lens ;)

Have one and really like it. But since i found myself using all 3 stacked most of the time, it creates vignetting at 7mm shift (on the 24mm TSE II). So if your looking into long daylight exposures (more than 10 seconds) better get a 10 stop nd filter of b&w (what im going to do in near future)

Haida have been getting a lot of love for their 10-stop nd filter - less colour cast than B&W, and a lot cheaper. I have just bought their 10-stop, but haven't had a chance to actually use it yet! They are also available retail in Australia, from Fotogenic in Sydney. Worth checking out.

Cheers, Damien
