I ordered my first strobe from B&H last Thursday night and it still hasn't shipped! I usually have very speedy service so I am very surprised to see this. I called yesterday and talked toa customer service rep who told me there was absolutely no reason this wouldn't ship on Monday but it did not happen. This is typical of the kind of service that I could get from many other online retailers and that's why I use B&H.

Am I being over-eager and spoiled by the usually very rapid responses I have gotten from B&H in the past, or do I have a legitimate complaint?

If you were told that it should have been shipped, and there wasn't any reason for a delay at the point of sale, i would speak to them again and try and find out whats going on. It may be a technical glitch whereby the website isn't updating, or it could be a an issue of bad service. You could get something out of it, perhaps postage refunded or something like that. Good luck! :)

My Canon can.. I just need to find out how

just to chime in. if you ordered on thurs nite, then this is only the second business day so far. it would've been nice if they shipped friday, but they would not ship sat or sun, and monday was a holiday.

it's too bad they gave you bad info but i don't see anything unreasonable yet. come back once you receive it and then we'll evaluate if it took too long.

i think some of us (myself included) are spoiled to the point that we think a week or 10 days (with 2 weekends) is too long to receive something.

Sounds right as was noted above due to weekends and holiday and if you ordered late on Thu. B&H has always taken one business day to get my stuff out (I've never opted for overnight, etc.). I've often ordered close to the weekend and got bitten on that one day delay. Frustrating when others ship the same day.

But I think it would be best to call them and find out.

Their store hours show that they close at 1 PM on Fridays, so if they had a lot of orders to process from Thursday night I could see how they might not have got the order out. Their site doesn't show Monday as a holiday for them, but it probably was for UPS and others.

so, if you ordered by UPS for example, if B&H didn't get the package to them before 1 PM on Friday your order wouldn't be shipped until today (Tuesday).

I called yesterday and they did in fact have it marked as "shipped" as of 11:00 AM. Looking at the UPS tracking number this morning it shows a departure scan from New York last night at 9:45 PM. No check-in scan in the midwest as of yet.

Looking back, maybe I had an unreasonable expectation about how quickly they process the order, it's just that i am used to most businesses shipping within 24 hrs of placing the order, even on weekends. Maybe I need to be a little more tolerant of the religious customs regarding working on the sabbath and plan ahead accordingly. Oh well, another lesson learned I suppose....

B&H still rocks as far as I am concerned.
