I almost never take this kind of picture and just wanted to see what others thought.

For me it doesnt work. The subject is too small (and sort of visually weak) to offset all of the negative space. If the subject were a bit stronger it would have worked. The fact that other blooms on the right and left are close to the area of shsp focus makes them more of a distraction than anything else. Try cropping it so the one sharp bloom stands alone against the out of focus area.

Fill the frame more with your main subject and warm it up some.

Good points above. There's really no clear subject as presented. Even though only one bunch is in sharp focus, it still gets lost in the overall blend.


Some Canon stuff and a little bit of Yongnuo.

Crop a 1/3 from the lhs and 1/3 from the top concentrates the image. Lovely colors.
