Am I missing the pre-existing thread? If not, here we go.

My first question... I don't suppose I can use my 622's directly with this flash?

If I've got 4 622's, I guess I'm bought into the older system. I'll stick with it for now.

Anybody know what features (if any) are not available when used on a 5D classic?

Why would you not be able to use the 622's with this flash? Wouldn't you just control it via the camera menu or the 622Tx? I mean it would be a waste because you just wouldn't be using the onboard radio.

Ya, that's what I meant. I might as well stick to the 568, etc.

ThePhotoGadget.com is a great source for Yongnuo flashes.
It looks like just about everybody sold out today. I guess I should have pulled the trigger this AM!

I see this caveat for the flash on the ebay seller pages:

This flash doesn't support the old cameras without External Flash Menus: 1Ds II, 1Ds, 1D II, 1D, 5D, 30D, 20D, 10D, 400D, 350D, 300

Does this mean it won't have any ettl functionality on a 5D hot-shoe? Or is only some of the ettl functionality crippled when on a 5D hot-shoe?

It's that the older cameras don't have the control menus for flash. It'll be as compatible as any ETTLII flashgun. Meaning everything works perfectly using the flashgun controls, but that you can't substitute the camera controls because they don't exist on the older cameras.
